"Superstitions"
Do you stay in bed on Friday the 13th? Do you walk around a ladder, avoid a black cat crossing in front of you? If you step on a crack, will you break your mother's back? Tell us about any superstitions that you have. Maybe you have an original one. If you don't have any superstitions yourself, then tell us about any others
you've heard of. Give us your opinion on superstitions.
I'm was very superstitious growing up. My mom grew up in the south and had a superstition for everything. We couldn't step across a broom. Nor could two people work on the same person's hair at once. We could never put on two caps, although I don't know why anyone would want to. Oh, and my favorite...a man must be the first one to enter the house on New Year's Day.
Once a mirror fell off the wall in my mom's house, and we both just stopped what we were doing and just looked at each other. Both not wanting to state the obvious..."someone was about to die". My mom had me terrified growing up.
Now that I'm a grown adult, I've come to realize that no matter what you do, bad things will eventually happen. So now-a-days (is that a word), if a picture were to fall off of one of my walls, I'd simply replace the broken glass, if needed, and hang that picture right back up on that the wall (while making the sign of the cross three times, spitting in the dirt, and taking three steps to the right, of course.)
