"Life's a Picnic"

Since summer is the time for picnics and enjoying the warm summer days, I thought it would be fun to share some picnic ideas. Whether it's a romantic picnic for two, a tailgate picnic at the baseball game or a 4th of July BBQ... tell us what's in your picnic basket. You can describe your idea of a perfect menu, you can give us one or more recipes for a picnic favorite or you can even show us a photo of a favorite picnic spot. You could say this is a pique-nique or potluck assignment!
One of our most favorite things to do, especially during those cold, blah days when we're stuck in the house with nothing to do, is to have an "Indoor Picnic." Oh, this can be done in the summer too, and it's probably even more fun ourdoors (LOL), but my son just loves indoor picnics, for some reason.
Here's what we do, but feel free to add/eliminate items if trying this at home:
1. Spread a tablecloth on the floor of the room in which you're planning to have your picnic.

2. Add a nice floral centerpiece to bring a little of the outdoors in.

2. Unload your dishes from the picnic basket...my son loves to help "set the table".

3. Plug in the radio and turn on some fun tunes.

4. What's in our picnic basket?

Well, our favorite foods, of course!

Well that's about it for our Indoor Picnic. Have fun!! Oh, and don't forget to put on your sunglasses, just in case it's too sunny inside!

Pittipat's No-bake Baked Beans Recipe
Ingredients
½ cup brown sugar
1 can (28 oz.) pork & beans
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
10 slices bacon (8 oz.)
Directions: Cook bacon in large skillet until crisp. Remove bacon; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons of fat in pan. Add onion and cook over medium-high heat until tender. Stir in beans, pepper, salt, and sugar. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 25 minutes. Serve warm.

Thanks, Connie!
