"Wild Child"

For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted a butterfly tattoo. I knew exactly where I would put it, too, on my back behind my left shoulder. But of course, I was a chicken and never did it. So, I went for the next best thing...you guessed it, a hole in my nose.

My children still cannot believe the pictures when they see it. Yep, mama had a nose ring. In hindsight, I see how ridiculous I looked and can only laugh at myself and wonder, what in the world was I thinking? To make matters worse, it had to be pierced three times. Initially, the guy pierced me too far up my nose, and that, I must admit, was the most painful thing in the world. I went back the next day (my love of pain, I guess) and had him pierce my nose in a more appropriate spot for a nose ring. That was fine, until I lost the back to the ring. Every day and night the ring would fall out, and it kept falling out until eventually I just left it out and the hole closed up. So, of course I had to go back about a month later and have him pierce me again, same spot.

I still have the hole to this day. It hasn't closed up, but thank goodness, it looks more like a pimple than another whole on my face. I also have two holes in both of my ears. That's as wild as I've been.

Until next time...
